The California Healthy Places Index provides a collection of guides that detail the implementation of policies aimed at community improvement across eight categories: Economic; Education; Housing; Health Care Access; Neighborhood; Clean Environment; Transportation; and Social factors.

This template will allow you to build out a comprehensive work plan and budget by allocating staff hours and assigning them to tasks and subtasks. In addition to labor expenses it also provides an area to track direct expenses and their impact on the overall budget.

You may use this template to organize/ structure your narrative within each section of a grant proposal. It provides space to include guidance from the grant and RFP guidelines as well as, potentially most importantly, guidance from the scoring rubric.

This template provides guidance for the early stages of planning and coordination within the team applying for a grant. It includes areas to provide an overview of the grant and RFP, a template for a 3-week proposal development timeline, space to capture notes from planning calls, as well as areas to organize members of the planning team by their role within said team.

This matrix may be used to help decide whether or not an organization should pursue a grant opportunity. The matrix consists of 4 key areas each of which have multiple factors to consider. The key areas are as follows: Impact on the World (Does it serve our target population?), Strategic (Does it serve the mission of my organization?), Winnability (Are we able to achieve established deliverables?), and Impact on Organization (Is there sufficient capacity to pursue this opportunity?).

The Participatory Budgeting Project developed a toolkit for officials and staff at governments and institutions that are interested in launching a participatory budgeting (PB) process. Its purpose is to help you understand what it takes to start a PB process and how to lay a foundation for success.

Resident Leadership Academy is a curriculum-based, leadership program located in San Diego. The goal of the program is to empower residents from under-resourced communities to make positive changes in their neighborhoods.

This project’s focus is on ensuring that frontline and under-resourced communities are provided access to Federal funding opportunities. In addition to sharing Federal funding opportunities, Justice40 Accelerator also shares technical support in writing and applying for grants, access to philanthropic grants, and information on project development.
