Impromptu content is a cool and fun way to capture real life visuals of issues and challenges we are trying to address. In this case, the city of Oakland implemented a city-wide slow streets program with very minimal outreach. The program was heavily rejected by East and West Oakland residents due to the lack of equitable engagement and outreach. Since the city didn’t do their due diligence in letting the community know, EOC did a social media post to bring awareness, spark conversation, and get East Oakland residents involved with the city survey.
